To see the young children that she’s saved from the shackles of sexual slavery is something that cannot help but bring joy to those that support her work. Veronica Varekova was born in Olomouc, Czechoslovakia. At the young age of nineteen, she left her home and moved to New York City. She originally planned to study at the Parsons School of Design, but changed her mind and opted to become a model instead. She was soon signed by Next Model Management. She has modeled in the United States and Europe.
This Czech supermodel has definitely showed the world that she has the poise, beauty, and persistence necessary to make it in the fashion industry. But, in Veronica's case, appearances can be deceiving. She is not the stereotypical model. Varekova is highly educated and has university degrees in both psychology and education. She is also impressively fluent in three languages.
During her career, she has worked with a number of high profile publications and products. Ms. Varekova has appeared in the popular Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition six times. Her most recent appearance was in the 2005 edition, and she earned the coveted cover spot in 2004. She also appears regularly in Victoria's Secret. Other magazines that have featured the Czech beauty on their covers include Marie Claire, Harpers & Queen, and Cosmopolitan. Veronica is the spokesperson for a number of popular brands and products including NIVEA, Guess, Chanel, and Pantene.
While Varekova's work has certainly brought her fame and fortune, it's her work with charities and humanitarian causes that brings her the most personal gratification. She supports various children's charities and has become a passionate advocate in the war against sexual slavery and human trafficking.
