Somaly Mam Foundation has partnered with the Office of the Mayor of New York to produce a multimedia anti-trafficking public awareness campaign. Thanks to support from Grey Advertising, the campaign used print ads in community and ethnic newspapers and palm cards containing educational information written in Chinese, English, Korean, Russian, and Spanish to target at-risk communities and neighborhoods.
Additionally, the Mayor’s Office produced a short PSA, recorded in four languages, which ran on Taxi TV, Crossings TV, Time Warner cable and NYC.gov. SMF’s partnership with the Mayor’s Office began when Somaly Mam visited the Queens Family Justice Center in March of 2010. To read Somaly's letter, click here. The next phase of the Mayor’s Office’s anti-trafficking efforts will be partnering with the Bellevue/NYU Program for Survivors of Torture to focus on victims’ service.
