In October 2012 we applauded the debut of Half the Sky: Turning Oppression to Opportunity for Women Worldwide, a film based on the 2008 book by Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn. The reaction was overwhelming: The book jumped to #1 on the NYT best-seller list and PBS flagged it as one of its most successful documentary events ever. We want to build on this momentum and would love your help.
We are looking for individuals to host small group "Salon" screenings of the film in order to spread awareness of global women's health, education, and economic empowerment, in particular among "influencers" in business, politics, media, and philanthropy.
How to Host a Screening:
Screening Half the Sky is a great opportunity to engage our communities in dialogue and inspire action. The Half the Sky movement offers an easy plug-and-play package for hosting these 40-80 minute private events, at which the film would, of course, be free for the hosts to screen. Depending upon time and location, the team would also love to make filmmakers and representatives from our NGO partners available as speakers for these "influencer" events.
Opportunities for corporate and public screening events are also available.
